Version 1.0, in force since September 9, 2026.

Autopass Privacy Policy

Version 1.0 — effective on publication

AUTOPASS PARKING LLC ("Autopass", "we", "us") operates the Autopass parking service at app.autopassparking.com and in the Autopass mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.

If you only read one paragraph: we collect what is needed to know which vehicle parked where, that the driver was actually there, and that the parking was paid for. We do not sell personal information.

1. Who we are

AUTOPASS PARKING LLC 2722 Griffin Road #343, Dania Beach, FL 33312, United States privacy@autopassparking.com

Autopass is part of the Vanguard Parking Solutions group. Parking lots in the Autopass network are owned and operated by independent parking operators; we provide the payment and verification service used at those lots.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details — name, email address, password (stored only as a hash), and optionally a profile photo and mailing address.
  • Vehicle details — license plate number and issuing state for each vehicle you add.
  • Phone number — used to confirm you are at the lot (see §3) and to reach you about a parking session.
  • Payment details — card information is entered directly into our payment processor, Stripe. We receive and store a payment token and the last four digits, brand, and expiry of the card. We never receive or store your full card number.

Information collected when you park

  • Location — with your permission, your device's GPS position at the moment you start a parking session, used to confirm you are inside the lot. We store the coordinates, their accuracy, and whether they fell inside the lot.
  • Carrier network verification — we send your phone number and the lot's coordinates to our telecom partner, which asks your mobile carrier whether that phone is near the lot. We receive only an answer — verified, not verified, or unavailable, sometimes with a confidence score. We do not receive your phone's location, and we do not receive it as coordinates.
  • Camera reads — parking lots in the network use licence-plate cameras operated by the parking operator or by Vanguard. We check whether your plate has recently been read at the lot you are paying for.
  • Plate photographs — if you photograph your plate instead of typing it, the image is sent to our plate-reading provider, used to extract the characters, and is not stored by us.
  • Parking session records — lot, plate, start and end time, rate chosen, amount, and payment status.

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser or device type, and operating system.
  • App diagnostics and crash reports.
  • Pages viewed and actions taken in the app or on the site.
  • Push notification identifiers, if you enable notifications in the mobile app.

3. Why we use it, and on what basis

What we do Why
Take payment for parking To perform the contract you enter when you pay
Confirm you are at the lot (GPS, carrier check, cameras) To prevent someone paying for a space they are not in, and to protect you from being cited after paying
Link a plate to a paid session So the lot's enforcement does not issue a notice against a vehicle that has paid
Send receipts and session reminders To perform the contract, and for our legitimate interest in a working service
Diagnose crashes and errors Legitimate interest in a service that works
Detect fraud and abuse Legitimate interest, and our legal obligations
Marketing email, if you opt in Your consent, withdrawable at any time

The carrier network check is a fraud-prevention measure. It confirms proximity to a lot at the moment of payment. It is not continuous, it does not track your movements, and it runs only when you are starting a parking session.

4. Who we share it with

  • The parking operator whose lot you park at — your plate, session times, and payment status, so they know the space is paid.
  • Vanguard Parking Solutions — for enforcement and, where a session is disputed, for handling that dispute.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Our telecom verification partner — your phone number and the lot's coordinates, for the check described above.
  • Our plate-reading provider — the plate photograph, if you take one.
  • Infrastructure and analytics providers — hosting, error reporting, mapping and address autocomplete.
  • Law enforcement or a court — when we are legally required to, or to establish or defend a legal claim.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account and vehicle records: while your account is open, and for up to 7 years after closure where we need them for tax, accounting, or a dispute.
  • Parking session and payment records: 7 years.
  • Location and carrier-verification records: 90 days.
  • Plate photographs: not retained.
  • Crash and diagnostic logs: up to 90 days.

6. Your choices and rights

You can, at any time:

  • See what we hold about you.
  • Correct anything wrong.
  • Delete your account and personal information, subject to records we must keep for a paid session, an unpaid balance, or a legal claim.
  • Take your data in a portable format.
  • Turn off location in your browser or device settings. Parking still works; we will fall back to the lot's cameras and the carrier check, and may ask you to confirm the lot manually.
  • Turn off push notifications in your device settings.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any such message.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a data protection authority. Exercising any of these rights will never cause us to treat you differently or charge you a different price.

To make a request, email privacy@autopassparking.com. We will verify who you are before acting, and respond within the time the law allows.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed, never stored in readable form. Card numbers never reach our servers. Data is transmitted over TLS and stored in access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

8. Children

Autopass is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, email privacy@autopassparking.com and we will delete it.

9. Where your information is held

We operate in the United States and store information there. If you use Autopass from outside the United States, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy law differs from your own.

10. Changes to this policy

We publish a new version rather than editing the old one. Every earlier version stays available, and the version in force is always the one shown at app.autopassparking.com/legal/privacy. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
